Special Toyota Hilux ‘Black Mamba’ concept revealed…
The Toyota Hilux Black Mamba has been revealed in Thailand.
Toyota has whipped the covers off its new Hilux "Black Mamba" concept at the 2019 Bangkok International Motor Show, slathering its double-cab bakkie in aftermarket accessories.
Bearing a full name of “Hilux Revo Z Edition Black Mamba”, Toyota says the concept was, of course, inspired the venomous species of snake.
So, what makes this bakkie different? Well, the body is finished in black and red, with plenty of carbon-fibre parts added both inside and out. Indeed, the bonnet has been fashioned from the lightweight material, as has that hefty front splitter, the sleek side-mirror caps and even the tailgate.
The special Hilux runs on red 18-inch alloys (wrapped in what appears to be racing rubber) and clearly features a generous suspension drop, too. Inside, you’ll find carbon-shelled front racing seats (each complete with a five-point harness), an aftermarket steering wheel and even a ball-shaped titanium gearknob. Interestingly, the majority of the adds-on are available to purchase from Toyota in Thailand.
Despite all the race-inspired aftermarket bits thrown at the bakkie, this Hilux is stock standard under the bonnet, where the 2,4-litre, four-cylinder turbodiesel engine churns out an unchanged 110 kW and 400 N.m.
