Opel has revealed images of its Grandland X in OPC Line trim and kitted out with a number of official accessories.

The Grandland X – which is expected to launch in South Africa in May 2018, slotting in above the Crossland X and Mokka X – shares its underpinnings with the Peugeot 3008, and will be assembled alongside its French cousin at a new plant in Walvis Bay, Namibia.

While the OPC Line treatment appears pretty subtle, seemingly adding items such as aluminium side steps (each able to support up to 135 kg), alloy wheels and stainless steel pedals, Opel has also revealed what it describes as a range of “tailored, high-quality original accessories” and “selected products from market-leading partners” (such as Thule).

These include transport and carrier systems; comfort and safety equipment; wheels and tyres; as well as styling elements. There are also rear-mounted Thule bike racks, boxes “in various designs and sizes” to be mounted on the base roof carrier and even an aluminium surfboard carrier.

We’ll have to wait for the local launch of the German brand’s latest SUV to learn which accessories will be offered in South African dealerships.
