New Mercedes-Benz B-Class: check out SA pricing…
We have pricing for the new Mercedes-Benz B-Class.
The AMG Line styling package will be optional.
Two engine options will be available in South Africa.
The new MBUX system will be offered.
The new Mercedes-Benz B-Class is expected to launch in South Africa towards the middle of 2019, but we’ve already managed to unearth local pricing for the third-generation version of Stuttgart’s MPV.
First revealed at the Paris Motor Show in October 2018 (with production commencing the following month at Plant Rastatt), the latest B-Class boasts a fresh design, a more advanced cabin and a new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (for the diesel model, that is).
From what we understand, the local B-Class range will comprise two derivatives at launch: a petrol variant and a diesel model.
The B200 will start at R526 900, powered by a turbocharged 1,3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine sending 120 kW and 250 N.m to the front axle via a seven-speed automatic transmission. Benz claims this derivative will hit three figures from standstill in 8,2 seconds, before topping out at 223 km/h.
And the B200d? Well, this model kicks off at R559 100, drawing its urge from a 2,0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel heart worth 110 kW and 320 N.m. This oil-burning engine is connected to the front wheels by a new eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and facilitates a claimed 0-100 km/h sprint of 8,3 seconds and a top speed of 219 km/h.
The list of options includes an AMG Line styling package (R50 175), various alloy wheels (measuring up to 19 inches in diameter), a panoramic sliding sunroof (R19 400), trailer coupling (R13 600) and plenty more.
